LAGUNA BEACH is part of the Kimony Group. The Kimony Group was founded in 2008 by Mr. Danil Abdulla, a local figure committed to his region. The Group undertakes numerous initiatives for environmental preservation and well-being of the local populations...
The Kimony Group collaborates with the Ministry of Water and Forests. A refuge has been created to house animals (especially lemurs) that have been seized, sick, or injured. The Group takes care of them until, hopefully, one day, they can return to their natural habitat.
The Kimony Group also carries out many reforestation initiatives. Slowing down the retreat of forests benefits soil health, as well as the preservation of the rich wildlife that inhabits them. These actions are carried out by the Group's teams in collaboration with local communities (Fokontany).
For the Kimony Group, it is crucial that the development of tourism benefits the local communities. For example, around the hotels, water and electricity are often provided for free (through the installation of public pumps). Additionally, for the safety of local residents, the Group often finances improvements to street lighting.
